UV Tanning
Our clients have told us time and again there’s no better place to get a high-quality UV Tanning than our Tanning Salon. choose between our regular UV, hybrid or rainbow tanning. Our sunbeds all have Bluetooth, so you can enjoy a singsong and a little bop whilst tanning, or listen to your favourite podcast. We provide deodorants, hairbands, face wipes and sanitiser giving you that extra special VIP experience. All our sun showers are cleaned between clients by us. We are members of the sunbed association and our 0.3 compliant tanning bulbs are changed regularly to ensure you get the best tanning experience possible.
Air brush tanning
At Summer glow, our spray tan service is a little different than you might find elsewhere. We use only the best products and dry and blend your tan, giving you a flawless finish. Come get a flawless airbrush with us.
Hybrid tanning
The synergistic effect of Hybrid Tanning offers a more holistic approach to tanning, addressing both the cosmetic and health aspects of skin care. This combination allows for a longer-lasting, more even tan, as well as improvements in skin texture, tone, and elasticity.
Red light works to promote your skin's blood circulation. Not only does this work to improve tan results if using red light in conjunction with UV tanning, but it also helps stimulate skin regeneration. Infrared is able to penetrate deeply into the skin.
Rainbow tanning
Our Rainbow tanning lamps combine UV light with four different colour spectrums.
The UV light provides direct and long-lasting colour through light energy and is vital for vitamin D synthesis. The Rainbow lights penetrate into deeper layers of the skin, providing natural anti-ageing and an optimised tanning result.
Blue light – positive energy
Harmony & happiness
The special qualities of blue light can treat skin problems. The antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects attributed to blue light can result in an improved complexion and the regeneration of tired skin. Blue light also emits positive energy for increased wellness, vitality and performance capability.
Red light – the beauty rainbow tanning lamp
Energy & vitality
The red colour spectrum nourishes skin, making it smooth and soft. Red light can also help stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin as it reaches the deeper layers of skin where the collagen and elastic fibres is. This energy can additionally improve the skin’s moisture balance and inhibit the effect of free radicals. This lamp also promotes blood circulation and stimulates the oxygen balance in the skin, encouraging a deeper, longer-lasting tan.
Green light – the wellness light
Calming & relaxing
Green is associated with relaxation. This colour spectrum can reduce stress easily and boost energy. Nature and growth both relate to green, as the colour is relaxing and balancing yet also invigorating. This lamp also aids skin by soothing and regenerating skin for new energy.
Yellow light – feel content with the sunshine rainbow tanning lamp
Joy & feeling of happiness
The Yellow light in our collection of Rainbow tanning lamps mimics sunlight. It additionally encourages an increased level of optimism, a joy of life, self-confidence and creativity. The special UVB light also increases the production vitamin D and serotonin, which are absolutely vital to life and boost health.

ABOUT ME
My name is ally chaplin and I’m the owner of summer glow. I opened my tanning salon in august 2019 in the center of Tiverton
My story?
I decided in the summer of 2019 that I was ready for a change in career, I’d loved being a dental nurse, but I was ready for a change and wanted to work for myself. It was now or never 😌
Why tanning?
Well the truth was, I was fed up of using salons that weren’t cleaned between clients, using beds with bulbs not working (I now know the importance of the life of the bulbs and why I wasn’t tanning!) and basically I knew I could improve on this.
What did I want for my business?
First of all I wanted the above issues to be resolved, plus I wanted to be the best in my game. Knowing how different lotions work and being able to pass that knowledge on to my clients.
I wanted to give my clients tanning tips, ie tanning times, use of fans, drinking water etc
I provide extras in my changing rooms, hair bands, face wipes, deodorants, all things I’d have appreciated when tanning in the past.
Most of all I wanted to give my clients the best experience and the best tan in a higher class salon using the best technology
Which is why, I now have 4 of the best sun booths, all with Bluetooth, high quality lamps, offering uv, hybrid and rainbow stand up tanning. Plus a lay down bed.
All my lamps are 0.3 compliant ensuring the safest tanning and I am currently the only salon in the area, to be a member of the sunbed association.
Summer Glow recently won highly commended in the British beauty awards 2023, which I am very proud of.
I also offer air brush tanning and cocktail tanning from my beautiful garden room, which is a very popular service with my clients, as it gives an instant colour.
